Chelsea began dancing in her hometown of Cairns before moving to Sydney in 2005 to pursue full time classical training at The Conlan College and Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy.

In 2010 Chelsea was offered a position at the prestigious English National Ballet School on a full scholarship under the direction of Michael Corder and moved to England to complete her pre-professional training.

Whilst at the school, Chelsea was selected to work and perform with the English National Ballet Company.

In 2010 Chelsea was offered a contract with Slovak National Ballet where she began dancing and was promoted to Demi-Soloist within one year then Soloist in 2015. During Chelsea’s time with SND she performed a variety of classical and contemporary roles, also having the opportunity to have pieces created specifically for her. Highlights of Chelsea’s career include working directly with Nacho Duato on Duende, dancing the solo couple in Uwe Scholz’s Second Symphony and creating the title role of Lady Darkness in Natalia Horecna’s Slovak Dances. Chelsea has also performed Titania in Youri Vamos’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, Gamzatti and Solo Shades in La Bayadere, Big Swans in Swan Lake, Solo Gypsy in La Esmeralda and Odalisques in La Corsaire. At the beginning of 2019 Chelsea moved back to Australia where she is now studying Sports Science and teaching. BWA is lucky to have her back to share her dancing experiences with our students and to provide an extra facet of strength and conditioning training as a qualified Gyrotonic instructor.
